Since there seems to be no way to start threads on the Tournament board at the moment, I'll put it here.
Thought number one...allow more time for the big tourneys. How about trying a 48 hour window per round for the one in the first half of the month and 72 hours per round for the later one? Try that for a few months and see what works best. My bet is that more members will complete the four round competitions than the current 24 hour ones.
Actually, I think it might benefit the club to make all of the tourneys either 48 or 72 hours, or even a week for the single rounders.
Finally, it might also be better to offer slightly fewer tournaments (I'm thinking of a reduction of 25% or something similar). There are just so many now that it seems like overkill. I realize no one has to participate in all of them, but we want participation, right? As it is now, it's difficult trying to balance country club matches, WGT-wide tournaments, other matches and practice. I don't think the idea of the country club is to put a stranglehold on the members to spend every moment in club activities; then again, I could be wrong.
